Bush Admits to Belafonte's 'Possessed of Evil' Charge

(2003-03-04) -- U.S. President George Bush responded today to former entertainer Harry Belafonte's accusation that the Bush administration is "possessed of evil."

"I was upset with Harry when he compared the Secretary of State to a house slave on a plantation," said Mr. Bush. "But this time he's absolutely correct."

When asked in a TV interview about the Bush administration, Mr. Belafonte said, "I think they know exactly what they are doing and I think that they are men who are possessed of evil."

Mr. Bush conceded, "Before this weekend, I would have agreed with half of that--we know what we're doing. But since we captured that al Qaeda fella up in Pakistan, we are 'possessed of evil', if you know what I mean. They don't come any more evil than that rascal. And we got him. He is in our possession."

The President said he sent note of thanks to Mr. Belafonte, and invited him to dinner at the White House.

"I assured him," said Mr. Bush, "that he wouldn't have to use the back entrance. I'll bet he thinks that's how Secretary Powell gets in."

Zing! I love it!

As with your best posts, I can imagine Bush actually saying this.

Good one!

And who the hell is Harry Bellafonte, anyway? He only has one memorable song--the silly thing about the bananas. And a fairly hot daughter.

Hairy Belafonte of course !!
That is brilliant Bush... legal torture.

We have Hairy Belafonte sing to the hairy evil
possessed prisoner. I bet that would make him "sing"

It should make a lovely duet.

Damn -- I already posted about this today, but yours is funnier. I do have a picture of Harry in a straitjacket, though. So there.

Belafonte said,

"I think he has a very selfish,
arrogant point of view.
I think he is interested in power,
I think he believes his truth is the only truth,
and that he will do what he wants to do
despite the people,"

This sounds more like the lyrics to "Butcher of Baghdad" to me...
I wonder of these clowns really know whos side they are on.

Harry had several hits in the late 50's and early 60's and I for one think that this enables him to criticize national policy for the next four decades.

After all his songs, "Banana Boat Song (Day-O)", "Man Smart(Woman Smarter)" and "Jump Down, Spin Around" are frought with deep meaning and bespeak his understanding of world affairs. He, of course, later went on to found that hearing aid company......no wait that was Beltone.

Harry and Louis (Calypso Louie) Farakan are planning a nostalgia tour.

Dear Harry, There's a banana boat leaving in one hour...be on it, please. Your loving daughter.

Posted by: mike at March 5, 2003 08:31 AM

Dear BellerFaute', President Bush said it best, after 9/11, "You are either with us, or you are AGAINST us!" Now leave...and take your weasel French, Germans, and wussy Hollywood, no talent types, with you. BTW, has anybody thought of what makes a good actor? Being a good LIER! That's right, you can sugar coat it and call it play acting, pretend, or fantasy, BUT the simple truth is, they are good at lying, to make us believe they are the person they are portraiting! Robert Blake will be convicted. Why,---Bad lier, and bad actor.

This just in - In a shocking confidential communication intercepted between Belafonte and Michael Jackson (former failed face transplant victim) Jackson assures Belafonte that for a few goats, some cows, and the small sum of $150,000.00 he can guarantee that the administration can be "evil possessed"!

Just another Hollywood antic from the washed-up has-been type. Harry, where were you when Clinton was lobbing cruise missiles at Bin Laden, when US forces were involved in Bosnia without UN authorization, when our soldiers were dying in Somalia? I don't remember your press conferences nor your public pronouncements. Hypocrisy makes you look foolish, transparent and pushing a political agenda instead of consistantly applying moral stands regardless of who inhabits the White House. Either that or it's time to pin your name on your windbreaker and bring you to the dog track.

Posted by: tom at March 5, 2003 12:29 PM

Why do a group of preople tear down their heros and honorable men and women and glorify such immoral characters as Clinton and Jesse Jackson?Oh well we in the time when evilbecomes good and good becomes evil......go figure on.

All of his songs, notice, have titles missing important worlds (Man Smart), such as 'is'

Posted by: Paul C. Tindall at March 5, 2003 06:53 PM

The song by Belafonte is the "Banana Boat Song". Lets make it the "Taliban Song"

Come mr. taliban hand over bin laden
we got bombs and we wanna drive 'em home
One million dollars for a bullet in his noggin
we got bombs and we wanna drive "em home

ma, osama, osama, osama, osama
we got bombs and we wanna drive 'em home
six foot, seven foot, eight foot under
we got bombs and we wanna drive 'em home

Bush is the most out of control, self apointed leader of evil, whom will not be happy untill his retarded nazism is the way the whole world works. regardless of the rest of what the rest of the world believe.... Is this page American????

Posted by: Andy at May 9, 2003 04:13 AM

what's sad, is that today, when an "American" speaks against the president, it's un-patriotic. The truth of the matter is...Condoleeza is a name of an OIL TANKER, named in her honor...of course, she is the national security advicer to a coke head, leader wanna be...yeah...whatever happened to the taliban ??? did we get Osama ? Saddam ? mmmmhhhh? Yep..they are liers...but wait! we own oilfields in iraq now...don't we?? WAKE UP AMERICANS, THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT FOUNDED BY NOT QUESTIONING OUR GOVERNMENT...IF YOU NEED ANY PROOF..ASK THE GERMANS...THEY'LL TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM WHEN THEY "BELIEVED" HITLER....
