Bush Vows to Win ‘War on Science’

by Scott Ott · 25 Comments

(2007-10-05) — Criticized by Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, for waging a “war on science” by limiting taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research and refusing to sign the Kyoto protocol on climate change, President George Bush today vowed to “win that war too.”

“When we go to war,” said Mr. Bush. “We go to liberate the oppressed from tyrants, to protect the world from their dark dreams of empire, and to guard our own liberty here at home.”

The president said he would “stand down” in his war on science, when science “stands up for the rights of all people, especially those folks in the womb who can’t defend themselves.”

He also said he’s committed to protecting the American taxpayer from “zealous academics whose research is so important to society that no one but government would voluntarily fund it, and Congress only does so because they’re spending someone else’s money.”

Mr. Bush said his war on science “includes combating the coalition of climate change — pandering politicians, cry-baby celebrities and speculative scientists who have formed an axis of snivel.”

“They seek to impose unproven solutions at great expense on individuals and business, with no reasonable expectation of a measurable benefit to society,” the president said.

“When Sen. Clinton talks about my war on science,” Mr. Bush said, “Let me just say this: I’m in. And I’m in to win.”

Overheard at a recent Clinton/Soros/Socialist confabulation:

“I was not wearing an American Flag lapel pin when not wearing an American Flag lapel pin wasn’t cool.”

“…..By ignoring and manipulating science, the Bush administration is letting our economic competitors get an edge,” Clinton said.

Is it scientifically possible to “ignore” and “manipulate” something simultaneously?

Anyway, this is all just a not-so-well-veiled shot at Bible-Thumping Christians and “religion” in general because they (yes, the Clinton/Soros/Socialist cabal) believe their own fairy-tale mythology which depicts Almighty God as not IN CONTROL of Science.

    I am proud to be a Bible-Thumper.

God presumably gave us the means and the knowledge to put those means to use. Man, by sheer definition is no more capable of doing anything “unnatural” than a snail. Whatever either thing does is completely “natural”.

When are we going to bring home our troops from the Science wars? Watch out for the phoney pony soldiers who claim to know how to split an atom but flunked out of 9th grade physical science.

Libby, good point. I suppose we need to pay attention to laws and such but even they are merely constructs, rather arbitrary in many instances.
    Keep digging!

I guess Hillary only wants to perpetuate the war on the most innocent of humankind. Wasn’t it the Nazis that justified using human beings (in their case, Jews) for their medical experiments? Freakin’ liberal fascists.

    NEWS ALERT:

From Kenneth Timmerman’s new book, “Shadow Warriors: The Untold Story of Traitors, Saboteurs, and the Party of Surrender”:

Some have called it the CIA’s greatest covert operation of all time.

It involved deep penetration of a hostile regime by planting a network of agents at key crossroads of power, where they could steal secrets and steer policy by planting disinformation, cooking intelligence, provocation, and outright lies.

It involved sophisticated political sabotage operations, aimed at making regime leaders doubt their own judgment and question the support of their subordinates.

It involved the financing, training, and equipping of effective opposition forces, who could challenge the regime openly and through covert operations.

The scope was breathtaking, say insiders who had personal knowledge of the CIA effort. All the skills learned by the U.S. intelligence community during the fifty years of the Cold War struggle with the Soviet Union were in play, from active measures aimed at planting disinformation through cutouts and an eager media, to maskirovka-strategic deception. … Its goal was nothing less than to topple the regime in power, by discrediting its rulers.

Many Americans believe this was the CIA’s goal during the 1990s, when the Agency had “boots on the ground” in northern Iraq, working with Iraqi opponents of Saddam Hussein. Most patriotic Americans probably hope that the CIA today has such an operation to overthrow the mullahs in Tehran, or North Korean dictator Kim John Il.

But the target of this vast, sophisticated CIA operation was none of them.

It was America’s 43rd President, George W. Bush.

It is for some to lead the charge from their living rooms. It is theirs to pick the fights and hurl insults. These should be recognized as the “Mouth Captains” they truly are. For them no hardship is too great for the other fellow. No risk is too great for someone else to take. No loss is too much for others to bear.

Those who never serve will be the last to surrender.

But ,ET wouldn’t we be more like “Finger Captains?”
You are right about the surrender ,though ,these old bones will be sitting by my barricaded window ,with my loaded double-barreled shotgun ready to fire.
