(2005-12-13) — A new series of books by Crips gang founder Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams, attempts to warn children of the dangers of lethal injection.

“Just as he did with his books against gang violence,” said an unnamed spokesman for the publisher, “in his new series Tookie taps his personal experience to discourage young people from pursuing the thrill and glamour of the lethal injection lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the Rev. Jesse Jackson is on his way to the Vatican to ask that Pope Benedict XVI put Mr. Williams on the fast track to sainthood.

The Rev. Jackson praised Mr. Williams, whose killing of four people launched his career as a Nobel Prize-nominated children’s book writer.

“Tookie is a perfect picture of redemption, and a role model for kids,” the former civil rights leader said. “But Governor Schwarzenegger, like Pilate before Jesus, washed his hands. I only pray that boys and girls will look to Tookie and remember what Christmas is all about.”
