Sadly, this story has a grain of truth.

  • 2 gafisher // May 15, 2009 at 8:52 am

Having grown up not too far from the Mecca of breakfast cereals (and having in fact taken part in a family pilgrimage to that hallowed ground in my youth) it’s impossible to ignore the extremely close link which has always existed between these foods and the medical profession — as well as to various branches of Biblical faith. Follow [this link] for a quick but fascinating history of those connections.

Are Frosted Flakes® the preferred prescription for people with anger-management issues?

  • 11 Darthmeister // May 15, 2009 at 3:48 pm

I heard General Mills was also coming out with a lithium-based version of Cheerios™ for perpetually angry liberals and Obamatons. Sheesh, talk about niche marketing!

Gotta love Friday unannounced meetings…or not

5% pay cut across the board, no more 401K matches…

Pass the Cheerios…better yet the Frosted Flakes I suppose.

Darth, on the contrary, not niche at all…the majority would like them…if the polls are correct

  • 14 R.A.M. // May 15, 2009 at 4:57 pm

2 thoughts. Either Obama is wanting (Cheerios), General Mills to fail so he can give them a bailout and then takeover ownership or, maybe this is his new “healthcare Program”, a box of Cheerios for every family when they get sick?

blabberinyetagin has 5 of 13 posts. Not quite his usual 50% but it’s early yet.

Just because I know you love them, here are a few more blabber.

Couldn’t be Obama, could it?

Better stock up on ALL cereals, beans, soups, canned goods. Americans will need them if we are to make it through the “Obama years”.

    Hopefully, they will be FEW!!!

Thank you Scott. I haven’t had much to laugh at lately and this one really got me! I think I’ve experienced one of the side effects from the over the counter Cheerios™ though, what should I do?

It’s the new National Cereal. Cherriobamas. Take the circle with red and white stripes, wrap the srripes around the O and there you have it: The Obama presidency with a hole in it.

  • 19 onlineanalyst // May 16, 2009 at 2:26 am

Instead of having tea parties to demonstrate our disgust with the profligate spending and destructive economic agenda of Obama and the Dem-led Congress, maybe we should just wave boxes of Cheerios®.

The debt that the Big O and this gang of thugs is imposing has less nutritional value that those harmless little O’s floating in a bowl of milk.

The Hypocrite Obamarx Tells Tempe Students: Live As I Say, Not As I Did

BTW, this country’s debt under Obamarx and his socialist regime can probably best be symbolized by the number 1 and the number of O’s in a box of Cheerios.

Hey Scott, given that California has more than its share of liberal fruits, flakes and nuts (unfortunately many California liberals have fled the nightmare they’ve created there and are now polluting Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Nevada with their presence, stupid ideas and higher taxes mentality) , don’t you think the medicated version of Fruit Loops™ might be a rather tame OTC breakfast cereal for this crowd?

  • 22 Ms RightWing, Ink // May 16, 2009 at 11:06 am

Hey, are all you Michigan Scrapplers going to sit back and take this.

What about Dr. John Harvey Kellogg who transformed health care in the nineteenth century and cereal industry magnates C. W. Post and W. K. Kellogg. These dudes died trying to convince you to eat shredded wheat biscuits and drinking Postum to make you live to be 190.

  • 23 mindknumbed kid // May 16, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Hypothetically speaking if those men’s arguments were wrong and shredded wheat biscuits, postum, or Cheerios, in fact were harmful to your health, would they be considered “cereal killers” in the present day anti-big business hostile environment?

wv – Until flannel…that could open a can of worms.

You realize of course that with the government required changes in packaging, ingredients, etc. the prescription version will cost you about $55 for a 12 ounce box…

Strange – I’m using a borrowed laptop to post this. My computer died this morning so I’ll be saving up my $$$ until I can get a new one. One of my church friends who is very computer literate says he can probably salvage my hard drive to put in the new computer when get it. From my SS Check it will probably take me three or so months to save up the $$$, so except for perhaps use of an occasional borrowed laptop I will be out for awhile. Ciao for now. – Heirborn Ranger

“Geithner: Still a Mess at Treasury”

We are talking about serious issues that are not being addressed, and the Obama administration wants to increase the debt load into a bottomless pit.

Most incompetent administration evah, the failed Obama presidency. But. hey. he’s popular.

  • 31 Laughing@You // May 18, 2009 at 6:58 pm

“Most incompetent administration evah, the failed Obama presidency. But. hey. he’s popular.”

What “evah” can you be saying? Our country has NEVER been attacked on Obama’s watch!

None of our citizens has been deserted in a time of great need, as they were in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

ALL of our economic problems are a direct result of Republican deregulation of our banking and investment sectors. That, and the tax cuts YOU sold our countries security to get, while starting wars on two fronts to enrich Halliburton, and who knows who else.

All of this to feed the gluttonous ego of your megalomaniac moron.

After Bush anyone, except another Republican, would be popular.

OLA Re#9, Kix just keep gettin’ harder to find.

As for #31, we haven’t been (openly) attacked because our leaders no longer pose a threat to our enemies.

(The rest of that post is the usual pointless Bush Derangement Syndrome nonsense, but with a fox guarding the henhouse it’s not hard to figure out why the doors and windows aren’t showing signs of forced entry.)

  • 34 gafisher // May 21, 2009 at 11:59 am

p.s. to #33: Kudos to the Obama Administration for not calling off the investigation, begun during and conducted under the rules of the Bush – Cheney Administration, which resulted yesterday in the arrest of a terror cell which had already planted what they thought was a large bomb in New York City and was preparing to attack an airport in New York with what they had likewise been fooled into believing were Stinger missiles.

The only real surprise in the new poll which reports both Bush and Cheney are quickly gaining in popularity is that CNN reported it.
