(2009-04-27) — Since the Obama administration’s talk of banning so-called ‘assault weapons’ has resulted in a huge spike in semi-automatic weapon sales nationwide, the White House has recently begun a covert ‘whisper campaign’ suggesting the president might also ban U.S.-manufactured cars and trucks with fully-automatic transmissions, now dubbed ‘assault vehicles’.
President Obama reportedly hopes such chatter will give a much-needed boost to U.S. auto sales.
“These fully-automatics are the weapon-of-choice in the vehicular-manslaughter industry,” said one unnamed White House source. “The automatic transmission allows the killer to accelerate rapidly without the manual process of clutching and shifting gears. Assault vehicles murder roughly four times as many people each year as do firearms. If you include suicides, cars still kill nearly twice as many people compared with all types of guns.”
The administration source also noted that while people with criminal records make up the vast majority of gun-murder victims, ‘assault vehicles’ kill indiscriminately, murdering 39,800 Americans in 2008 alone.
“In most homicide-by-firearm cases, it’s one crook killing another,” said the source. “But automatic transmissions turn law-abiding citizens into killers of other law-abiding citizens, including women, children, seniors and innocent pedestrians.”
Publicly, the administration maintains that it supports an individual’s ‘right to keep and be borne upon wheels’, but the sophisticated whisper campaign is designed both to curry favor with the anti-car lobby, and to boost the economy by driving panic demand for fully automatics.

The unsubstantiated suggestion that 79% of an undisclosed group of “voters” supposedly admitted to being members of the Democrat party is ludicrous.

Don’t you guys get it? Our young, vital, president-of-color is playing “stern task-master” with ludicrous luxury for our own GOOD. Why should we be able to effortlessly slide thru 3rd, 4th, 5th, and then into a manical full-tilt OVERDRIVE whenever we feel like it? Just becuz we own the thing? Come on! Obama wants us to appreciate every stage of vehicular acceleration so we’ll know where we’re going and where we’ve been and take nothing for granted. We see his same signature strictness applied to all other political issues he grapples with as well….like economics, immigration, welfare, health care, poverty, right? No more free ride! No more—- uh, wait a minute…..Nevermind…

Obama, “Sportsmen”: Barack Obama believes the Second Amendment creates an individual right, and he respects the constitutional rights of Americans to bear arms. He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns.
Obama, “Urban Policy”: Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn’t have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.
“As President, I will uphold the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun-owners, hunters, and sportsmen. I know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne. We can work together to enact common-sense laws, like closing the gun show loophole and improving our background check system, so that guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists or criminals. Today’s decision reinforces that if we act responsibly, we can both protect the constitutional right to bear arms and keep our communities and our children safe.”

Perhaps B.O. should push to ban fully automatic Amnesties. This newest fully automatic amnesty bill is far more dangerous to America than an AK-47, MAC-10 or a UZI, 9mm with taped 30 round magazines. I just got a video about some of the more horrendous aspects of the bill. If it makes it through Congress, B.O. is sure to sign it and automatically the provisions will make the hairs on the back your neck stand at attention. If you are able to sleep comfortably it will be only because you don’t understand the bill and it’s ramifications.
House Minority Leader, John Baynor referred to this piece of Amnesty legislation, currently making it’s way through Congress, as a piece of (expletive deleted). Or in the words of the late, former President of the United States, Teddy Roosevelt: “Pure Horsefeathers!” (and that, at best, could only be construed as an overly generous ‘understatement’!!!)
Some of the more outrageous provisions:
A.) Illegal aliens will be given legal status within 24 hours of applying for the amnesty whether background checks have been completed or not (a literal impossibility);
B.) Illegal aliens, making application for amnesty, will have all legal expenses paid by the American taxpayers;
C.) Illegal aliens who are known gang members (currently estimated to be 30,000) can apply for amnesty by simply stating, “I no longer wish to be a gang member”;
D.) Monies will be paid to Mexican Government to provide incentives for Mexicans to remain in Mexico, ie: education programs, health care benefits, etc.;
E.) “Fast track” on legislation to eradicate borders between the U.S.A. – Mexico and Canada, ala Europe’s Common Market;
F.) The proposed 700 mile fence to be shortened to 200 miles;
G.) Illegal aliens will be given “in state” tuition at all colleges;
H.) Illegal aliens, applying for college entrance will automatically be placed at the head of the applications list (”Jump the line” legally by Federal mandate);
I.) Illegal aliens are automatically relieved of any back taxes on previously earned income;
J.) Illegal aliens are eligible for earned tax rebates (reverse income tax);
K.) Illegal aliens will have the requirement to learn English extended to nine years after the amnesty bill’s date of enactment.
These are just the ones I can remember. The entire Amnesty Bill is a nightmare of gargantuan proportions (the kind where you awaken in a torrential sweat with soaked bedsheets – sort of a scene from a really scary horror movie). Only, unlike “The Night of the Walking Dead” we cannot stand up, leave our seat and walk out of the theater. We’re going to have to live this one but it’s still better to die on your feet as a free Citizen than to live on your knees as a Government Subject.

Truly scary stuff here…
S. 9 Bill Text: Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the “Stronger Economy, Stronger Borders Act of 2009”. SEC. 2. SENSE OF CONGRESS. It is the sense of Congress that Congress should enact, and the President should sign, legislation to strengthen the economy, recognize the heritage of the United States as a nation of immigrants, and amend the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq.) by– (1) providing more effective border and employment enforcement; (2) preventing illegal immigration; and (3) reforming and rationalizing avenues for legal immigration.
Speaking as an American indian (Cherokee) I wish that WE had enacted much stricter immigration laws. We’d be much better off. But, now that the cat’s out of that bag…let’s try and recall that all white/black folks are interlopers and to arbitrarily select the brown folks for exclusion seems a tad silly…now, if you want to keep the Irish out, then you’ll get some support

I find it comical that BHO apologists demonstrate time and again that BHO is simply emulating everybody else before him [George W. Bush in particular] (another lie, of course); this way he bears no personal responsibility for anything and is thus able to concentrate on partying into the night.
Now, that’s what I call change, dawg.
The mind reels at the possibilities available to BHO and his criminal henchpeople in the next 100 days to dismantle what is left of The United States of America; especially after what we’ve seen him do to us up to this point. He’s just getting warmed up, flexing, in preparation for our destruction at his entitled, murderous hands.

It’s about that time of year again:
Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.
This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.
The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
WHAT?? You expected something educational from me?

The assault vehicle control program should not overlook certain medium delivery vans. They look innocuous but many of these long range assault weapons are equipped with semi-automatic transmissions. And due to their heavy weight they are even more deadly than the smaller caliber full automatic vehicles.

The Amnesty bill is astounding, but then treason usually is. Actually, I’m not so much astounded as I am disgusted. Although I shouldn’t even be disgusted. As Rush is so often quoted; “It’s a simple answer, ‘Liberals are Liberals’, that sums it up.”. I carefully read every word of the bill and traitors are traitors, no matter where they’re born or how they spell their name. Benedict Arnold looks really good compared to some of our American Senators and Representatives today. Removing the borders smacks of treason to me.
“Treason doeth never prosper, what’s the reason? For if it prosper, none dare call it treason.” – John Harington

Cost to taxpayers? Don’t ask the “news” media! Then there was the horrible mixup on Obummer’s speech machine (the Teleprompter). Isn’t it amazing the Jekyll-and-Hyde act this pretender demonstrates? Actually, despite what Specter may have said in whatever statement he issued, his real motivation is probably that he would have lost the primary to his more conservative opponent. Switching parties was the only way he could hope to retain his seat.
But the Dems do now have a filibuster-proof majority, a fact which I think they owe in large part to the Republican tendency over the last eight years to embrace a socially repressive form of theocratic populism that most people in the country find distasteful.
I hope the Republicans wake up and find their way back to their small-government, live-and-let-live roots.

Bober Re#52, Specter’s been unfailingly unreliable as a Republican, and of course before that he was an unreliable Democrat. For all that, he’s been far from the Dem “leadership” on security and the 2nd Amendment and I seriously doubt his voting will be any different just because he’s got a different letter after his roster listing. My #38: Surprise, surprise!! WCBS posted the cost of AF1 ($60,00 per hour), and mentioned the fighter costs but with no numbers. At least they took a stab at the dollar cost of this unbelievably STUPID event. But it’s just an other of a lengthening list of similar Obummer administration “missteps”.
58 Godfrey // Apr 28, 2009 at 8:03 pm
Gafisher: The general election will be tricky for the Republicans now. From what I know of PA, the conservatives are “very” conservative but they’re a minority (PA is a blue state). I don’t think going more conservative is going to help the GOP, there or anywhere else; in fact that is probably what’s been hurting them nationwide since 2006 (along with the war, of course).
People seem to be embracing a hands-on fiscal policy, which I think will prove disastrous…but they seem to be leaning toward a more hands-off social policy, which the libertarian in me really likes… but which also bodes ill for the latest incarnation of the Republican Party.
I’m not sure it matters in the long run. 20 years from now I doubt we’ll recognize either party based on today’s standards.
