White House: Obama Bow Was Attempted Head Butt

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 47 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2009-04-08) — The White House today again denied that President Barack Obama had submissively bowed last week to Saudi King Abdullah, updating the official version of events to portray it as a “torso flexing move designed to administer a friendly head butt to the Muslim monarch — an amped-up version of the fist-bump he often shares with the First Lady.”

“President Obama, as everyone knows, is a man’s man, and he just wanted to establish who’s the alpha male in the pack,” said White House press secretary Robert Gibbs. “He naturally expected the King to return the head butt, and was surprised to receive just a mild handshake.”

Yesterday, the White House said the president didn’t bow, but merely stooped to make eye contact with the diminutive Arab dictator.

As the video demonstrates, Mr. Obama apparently also wanted to display the crown of his head to the King, and perhaps to examine the hem of the King’s robe up close.

He didn’t touch the hem…did he? That would be bad…

    Funny Scott!

  • 2 RedPepper // Apr 9, 2009 at 12:01 pm

    Or perhaps a head fake?

    wv=”panderer overall” …

Brilliant, Scott!! Hopefully, the LSM morons will pick up this “explanation” and run with it. It seems plausible enough…

  • 4 da Bunny // Apr 9, 2009 at 12:06 pm

I’m sure King Abdullah will request a do-over, now that he knows what Barry’s intentions truly were…I mean, who wouldn’t want to be honored with a head butt by the Butt-Head, himself.

    {I fully well understand that deletion may occur here… :-) }

All kidding aside, the truth is that, after a night of gin-soaked debauchery and caviar, BHO hurled tiny chunks on the monarch’s $18,000 shoes.

Clue me in please. I bowing not allowed? I truly don’t grasp the issue but then again the whole teleprompter thing goes right over my tiny little head too so I’ll take an explanation of either or both

“[Obama] was surprised to receive just a mild handshake.”

People like King Abdullah reserve firm handshakes for those they respect.

[By the way, the "official" excuse states B.O. was stooping to give one of his hokey two-handed handshakes. If the White House protocol office had the tiniest scintilla of a clue they'd have advised him well in advance that in Arab culture the left hand is considered unclean, used for, uh, personal hygeine. In this instance, the excuse is even worse than the truth.]

While Obama’s TelePrompTer was being reloaded with responses to the Somali Pirate situation, Senator John Kerry took up the slack by calling for Congressional Hearings. Kerry lamented his own lack of actual military experience but indicated he wished he could personally defend American vessels if he could only get me a huntin’ license.”

Take convicted criminals off of death row, train them to run a ship (Dirty Dozen style) and let them run that ship through the straights until they are hijacked.
Then, with no hesitation whatever we board the ship and kill everyone on board, be they “hostages” or “pirates”.
    Problem solved…for good.

  • 22 upnorthlurkin // Apr 9, 2009 at 4:32 pm

Hearings…..yeah, that’ll show ‘em! And if hearings don’t scare them, our limp wristed TinC will have his teleprompter compose a strongly worded uuhh, aahhh, uuummm letter. They’ll surrender, why they’ll prolly kill themselves out of respect!

  • 23 boberinyetagain // Apr 9, 2009 at 4:41 pm

or hearings…hearings might work. Coming over the wire now, “pirates surrender after hearing about hearings”

Am I the last person in America to learn that there is a newly designed nickel in circulation?

I heard nothing about it, read nothing about it, but today, in my change I found this strange coin. at first I thought it must be a foreign coin, Canadian, British perhaps? But there were the words IN GOD WE TRUST – Liberty – a “P” mint mark – 2005 on one side. The other side; E Pluribus Unum – United States of America – Lewis & Clark*1805*FIVE CENTS – and Ocean in view! O! The joy a scene of a forested bluff beside the ocean.

Did everybody but me already know this?

All that Ackbar has to say is that he is “deeply concerned,” and nations hostile to the US will scurry for cover.

Regardless of the mighty spins and pirouettes (learned from Rahm?) that the WH is putting forth over Ackbar’s bow to the Saudi King, the action has been caught on too many cameras and videos to deny the obvious. The Saudis and the rest of the ME are trumpeting this act of subservience in their news venues.

  • 27 JamesonLewis3rd // Apr 9, 2009 at 6:18 pm

My RedState informants have informed me that BHO has demanded that his Democrat party henchmen install him as president for all eternity forthwith.

  • 28 Fred Sinclair // Apr 9, 2009 at 7:07 pm

Interestingly enough (and rightly so) every person or persons born before 1895 who chanted their “God is dead” mantra. Is dead; all the while God just keeps on keeping on.

Some people just never learn, until it’s too late, and by then, of course, it’s too late!

It would seem that when the mantra chanters are lying abed and visitors come into the room, introducing themselves as “We’re from Hospice, and we’re here to help.” they would at least garner a clue that Ronald Reagan’s most chilling words “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” have just been trumped.

Receiving this, I recalled a verse from the book of Proverbs: “As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” (Prov. 25:25)

    Excerpt from “Catholic Vote.org”

What could possibly be next? I sometimes wonder if the world is spinning faster and faster, and in the wrong direction.

So how could we be joyful in this time of uncertainty and darkness? In his letter to the Philippians, Saint Paul seems to be speaking directly to us when he writes: “The Lord is near. There is no need to worry” (4:5-6). This is the same Saint Paul that was beaten repeatedly, stoned, shipwrecked, sleep deprived, and starved. And yet he said: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: Rejoice!”

Our hope is that one of the distinctive characteristics of CatholicVote.org is our joy. Without saying it explicitly all the time, our aim is to “rejoice” in everything we do. And inspire others, especially people searching for answers, to do the same. We are called to be people of hope. Instead of thinking about how dark our world has become, what if we considered what a privilege it is to live at this time in history – and creatively tell the world why.

The late Father Richard Neuhaus once wrote: “We have not the right and we have not the reason to despair if we understand that our entire struggle is premised not upon a victory to be achieved, but a victory that has been achieved…far from despair, we have a right and reason to rejoice that we are called to such a time as this, a time of testing, a time of truth.”

    Amen!

Unlike the first Christians who witnessed the death of Jesus, we know what comes after Good Friday. Pardon the spoiler, but we have read the book! God wins.

And so our Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter message to you this year is simple: Rejoice. Always.

I still think they should say that Obozo dropped his Blackberry as he reached to shake the king’s hand. Drink some more kool aid and say “that’s right” all you Obamanuts. People with half a brain know it was a genuine bow, must not be playing well in most venues.

  • 31 Ms RightWing, Ink // Apr 9, 2009 at 8:45 pm

The bowing debacle should be a gentle reminder– never travel to the other side of the globe without a copy of Miss Manners.

That goes for you too Michelle. Never, never, touch the Queen when she is listening to the Rolling Stones on her I-pod. She easily looses her place and gets angry.

    Off with her head!

    Et, re: 108, previous thread.

You are everthinking, but to no apparent end. You mock that republicans, conservatives, ditto heads have been using the term “useful idiots” for so long that we’ve forgotten what it means. That might (note I say might) be true, but even if it is, at least we knew what it meant, which is more than I can say for you.

You seem to think that we believe that they (the three members of the CBC) are useful to republicans. If you weren’t so clueless you would know that they are useful to the communists in Cuba, Raoul and Fidel because they are lending an air of legitimacy to them. They (the 3 members of the CBC) are idiots because they apparently don’t realize it. Hence useful idiots.

Why is it long past time to begin a dialog with Cuba?

According to your thinking, republicans should be embracing the 3 members of the CBC because they certainly have been exposed as useful idiots.

As for your China/Republicans question, it’s not an either/or question which is how you phrased it. The question should be: Are the Chinese unknowingly but usefully advancing America’s interests while idiotically thinking that they are advancing their own? Are the republicans doing the same? I don’t know why you chose those two examples but I’ll leave it to people far smarter than me to figure it out.

Finally, it is certainly possible for a newly minted American president to be a useful idiot to our enemies by going around the world constantly denigrating his own country. The country that elected him. Isn’t that the job of our enemies?

Why don’t you try thinking next time.

    Regards,

Some people are just attracted to evil personified, communist dictators eagerly line up to see who can “fill the bill” best. There just isn’t a whole lot going on between the ears of folks like the three members of the CBC, and it shows.

Reporters asked Ackbar about the pirate hostage situation, and he responded that his concern during the presser is the housing situation. Definitely no sense of leadership there. No words of concern for the captain or assurances that efforts are being undertaken that he is unable to discuss. What an amateur! (I thought that this idjit was supposed to be able to multi-task.)

But watch this peculiar reaction from Madame Hillary! http://conservativexpress.blogspot.com/2009/04/hillary-clinton-breaks-into-laughter.html

Fred Re#24: Oh, you got one of those counterfeit nickels?

Seriously, that series of coins commemorates the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition, and a very handsome series it is. The US Mint promotes them here. The fact the Mint “plugs” them doesn’t make them traditional plugged nickels, by the way. :-)

OLA Re#43, all BO meant was that the TOTUS was still being updated.

A Reuters story here describes North Korea and the pirates as “annoying distractions” for Obama. Nope, not a multi-tasker. Barely even a mono-tasker. Definitely a rookie.

I normally don’t care for Jon Stewerts comedy or politics, but he had the most hilarious skit on this tonight. To show Obama wasn’t the first they showed Carter reading a bedtime story to a Prince of SA, Eisenhower giving a foot massage and FDR giving a “piggyback”ride!!!!
Then to show he understood Hindu, they super imposed 6 extra arms on BHO.
