(2008-09-12) — Jeremy Kleckner, a junior at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., said today that Sen. Barack Obama’s efforts to ignite a wave of young volunteers across the nation is succeeding beyond the Democrat presidential candidate’s wildest dreams.
“He hasn’t even touched the bully pulpit in the White House yet,” said Mr. Kleckner, “and already Obama’s got me excited about volunteering. I heard him talking last night about how we need to give back to our country and he just touched my heart. First thing this morning, I called the Lehigh County Republican committee and asked them how I could help get John McCain and Sarah Palin elected.”
Sen. Obama has made his ability to inspire national service a pillar of his plan to change America — a commitment that he reinforced during The 9/11 Presidential Forum last night at Columbia University.
Unfortunately, viewership of the interview was relatively low, since many Americans were away from their televisions, coaching little league soccer and football, leading scouting programs, attending PTA and church committee meetings, planning community clean up days, participating in a wide-variety of efforts to help people in the U.S. and abroad, or simply helping their children with homework.
Of course, most U.S. public high schools already have a forced-volunteerism program as a graduation requirement to teach young people the joy of altruism, but President Obama’s plan would go further, offering a powerful combination of soaring rhetoric, cash payments and free health insurance to induce people to selflessly sacrifice for their country.
During the Democrat National Convention, Sen. Obama set a powerful personal example by requiring six hours of volunteer service from people who wanted to attend his speech at Invesco Field. By giving their time to his campaign, thousands of people learned the value of tickets to a concert by Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Sheryl Crow and other musicians who warmed up the crowd for the Obama speech.
For his part, Mr. Kleckner said Sen. Obama had given him “a burning desire to be part of something bigger than myself.”
“Obama made me realize,” Mr. Kleckner said, “That I could give a few hours each week to help elect a man who risked his own life volunteering to serve in wartime and whose wife volunteered with medical missions in places like Darfur, along with a woman whose public service career started as a volunteer in an Alaskan PTA.”
Sen. Obama has a history of inspiring others to volunteer dating back to his days as a paid community organizer in a Chicago housing project, where he earned up to $25,000 per year training local volunteers to demand government money for community projects.

I watched part of the Snooze fest last night but I had to keep slapping myself in order to stay awake.
The funniest part is when OB1 said he would welcome the ROTC on campus. I nearly fell to the floor laughing, but falling to the floor is something I try to not to do.

Perhaps someone can inspire Obama to learn appropriate etiquette when honoring a memorial.

Go Jeremy! Go! Looks like there’s an army of Jeremys lining upfor McCain/Palin.
DRUDGE has me laughing out loud this morning with two tidbits:
DEMS ON CAPITOL HILL FEAR OBAMA FALLOUT…
GALLUP: Battle for Congress Suddenly Looks Competitive…
If only for once the Liberals would be consistent and implement their “Cut and Run” policy in this war for the Presidency!!!
Because, absent the bullets and bombs, mortars and missiles, we are engaged in a war – with far greater consequences than a war in Iraq or Afghanistan, Kosovo, Korea or even the ‘war between the States’.
Not since the Revolutionary War have we had so much at stake. Then it was a war to determine whether or not we could even become a Nation – apart and independent of the Crown of England.
Now, on November 4th we will determine whether or not we shall remain a Nation or meekly allow ourselves to slip into place as simply another country in the Communist bloc.
Unlike other countries, once in the Communist bloc like Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, etc. we will not have an America to come to our rescue.
It’s a simple decision – Americans can vote for America’s continued existence (as we know it) or they can vote for Obama. Strictly a clear cut Conservative or Liberal vote.
We may have to fight the Revolutionary war all over again only this time it won’t be a war with England. It’s all dependent on how God has planned our future.
I don’t believe that God has created this country, only to let some of mankind flush it down the sewer. so I am praying for a conservative landslide on November 4th!

Yep, that describes our Sarah said the pompous gasbag Charlie ,as he sat looking down his pompous liberal nose.

Great satire Scott!!! Truer than we might think though. The more O’Bama attacks McCain and Palin, the more support he loses. Just like a “typical lib”, he just don’t get it!
The lastest is he, (O’Bama), is making fun of McCain for being Internet “illeterate”.

WHAT?
COLUMBUS: The fight is on in Ohio to save the buckeye tree from heading north to, of all places, Michigan.
Environmentalists say global warming threatens to change the habitats of many plants and trees, including Ohio’s iconic buckeye tree. They say climate changes likely will push the growing range for the Ohio buckeye tree farther north.
Although found in other parts of the Midwest, the buckeye tree is the official state tree of Ohio and serves as the sports mascot for Ohio State University, whose football rival is the University of Michigan.
Activists launched a campaign today in Columbus called Save The Buckeye, which calls on Congress and the next president to reduce global warming pollution. They plan to hold rallies at football tailgating events.

Short excerpt from The Canada Free Press
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/4784
In Artful Dodger style, Barack Obama, plays down his mentorship with Communist author Saul Alinsky. But Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, credits Obama for “learning his lesson well†from the Communist guru.
Indeed, Alinsky Jr. who credits his late father for the success of last week’s Democratic National Convention, may have done something that Obama’s detractors couldn’t: blown the cover on the presidential hopeful’s communist leanings.
Obama followed the same path.
It is a fact that activist-cum senator Barack Hussein Obama started off his career as an activist with a position as a community organizer for the Developing Communities Project (DCP) of the Calumet Community Religious conference (CCRC) in Chicago. Both the CCRC and the DCP were built on the Alinsky model of community agitation, wherein paid organizers learned, in Alinsky’s own words, how to “rub raw the sores of discontentâ€.
Meanwhile L. David Alinsky, perhaps unwittingly put Obama into the proper perspective by stating without reservation: “Obama learned his lesson well.â€

Sean Hannity,
I often listen to other conservative radio shows including Rush, I don’t agree with everything he says, but he does seem to have a mind of his own and does not seem resistant to criticizing whom ever is in office. In contrast, you on the other hand are just a puppet of this aministration, with no mind of your own.
What I have concluded in listening to your broadcast is that you are no more than President Bushes Monica. I no longer consider your show a resource for any kind of truth, but instead simply a propaganda median for the Bush administration. I don’t believe I have ever heard you criticize anything that this administration has done. Admittedly, you may have, but if you have it is without a doubt a rarity.
Very rarely do I have the opportunity to watch Hannity and Colmes. Last night I did. One of your guests was a Senator. The discussion was in regards to the CIA leak. To paraphrase, he stated that if the administration deceived congress on the facts of the Iraq war, it could be a crime. Your defense was the usual scripted what did John Kerry say. Hannity, who cares what Kerry said, he’s not the President! Your display of defense in this matter even in light of all of the facts that we know is nothing short of imbecilic.
Sean contrary to what many of your brainwashed listeners have said, in my opinion you are not a great American. You’re not even a good American. Your shows line your pockets at the expense of dividing this country with hatred and anger for the opposing party. Your actions absolutely contradict what you claim so proudly of the republican party, the moral party, the do-righters. Soon we will find if this administration, which has built its foundation on morality, are nothing more than hypocrites. Those of us with half a brain have already realized you are. The only consolation may be is that your time would end in 2009, maybe sooner. Bush will be out of office, and his zipper will have pinched your nose and your career.
Today – Well, I have to admit when I’m wrong. It looks like Hannity might be around to carry on his duties for McCain. haha, should he win.

“… hatred and anger for the opposing party”?
The vast majority of the hate and anger for the opposing party is coming from the Demoncrats, sir. Have you taken a good look at your average leftist/liberal blog? My God, they’re raving lunatics!
Here in our community we actually had a Donk write a letter to the editor calling Republicans hypocrites because John McCain chose Sarah Palin for his V.P. and her seventeen year old daughter is pregnant and Sarah didn’t kick her out of the house? I kid you freakin’ not!
This is the kind of insanity, hate, lies, and self-righteous fingerpointing coming from YOUR side of the aisle. And you people claim to be sooooo enlightened and willing to support women from every walk in life … unless her name is Sarah Palin!
Admit it, the anti-Bush Derangement Syndrome which has infected your side of the aisle for the last seven or so years has now mutated in outright hate, a form of psychotic hate rarely seen on such a massive scale. And you dare accuse our side of being “divisive” and full of hate and anger when that’s all we’ve seen from the barking moonbats on your side of the aisle since Reagan whooped Jimmah Carter?
How you can possibly nurse such a cognitive dissonance in the face of the daily reports from your own media of the ugly hate coming from the Demoncrat Party is truly mind-boggling. What kind of moron can possibly say that the only reason a certain woman is a Vice Presidential candidate is because she hadn’t an abortion? A deranged Donk, that’s who.
BTW, however deep you are in denial, Barack Messiah Obama is still an empty suit and a liar to boot. His own words condemn him. If you have the courage (and the proper sense of humor) watch this videoclip.
As to my contention Mr. Barack Messiah Obama is a shameless political opportunist who has to lie in order to pad his tissue-thin resume (why else would he have to lie about what he has accomplished, right?), here’s just a couple of well-documented and properly vetted factchecks on The One. BTW, these aren’t flubs or gaffes, these are outright lies that he spoke and is on video record:
Mr. Obama has lied on video about being a member of the Senate Banking Committee and even referred to it as “my committeeâ€in hopes of embellishing his tissue-thin resume.
And this one should be near and dear to you, sir, Obamessiah also lied about “helping to pass†Public Law 110-181 which extended healthcare benefits to wounded troops. He didn’t even vote on the bill and his shameless shills have tried to say what Obama meant was he authored provisions specifically for the bill which made it into the final draft. That too is a lie.
Anyone interested in the truth about this person who paints himself as America’s “truth-telling†messiah, go to YouTube and type “Obama lies and gaffes†in the search engine. Then grab some popcorn. You’ll find without his teleprompter Mr. Obama consistently contradicts himself, is more inarticulate than President Bush, and commits more gaffes per minute than Dan Quayle, yet his blind supporters thinks he’s actually brilliant! Amazing, simply amazing the blindness which exists on your side of the aisle.

I appreciate your expressing your opinion in what I do consider a professional, respectful manner. I’d almost eb willing to take your bet except that I think it would be very difficult to determine the exact numbers unless we check with Diebold. I guess that’s a possibility, but even then we won’t likely get the accurate answers.
I ask you to do this. Look at McCain’s voting record with regard to Veterans well fare and benefits. I respect the fact that he was able to survive as a prisoner of war. I would have never wanted to be in the situation he was in. I can say, that if the accusations of his behavior while there are true, I would hope that I could have attacked more honorably. My point those is not with his service. With that experience one would think that his support of those following behind him would be definite and unwavering. I have seen and experienced evidence to the contrary. I do respect your service.
As for Obama, it is my opinion that he is more empathetic to the obstacles and tragedy facing today’s military families.

BO as president guarantees a record-breaking, nearly-unanimous Republican landslide victory on every level of government all the way down to neighborhood watchin perpetuity.

I joined the US Army in 1967 as a 17.3 year-old juvenile delinquent (I was actually being housed at the Juvenile Detention Center there on Mound Street). I was discharged in 1976, a 26 year-old juvenile delinquent. There’s a lot of shame associated with that bit of my time line; enough for a couple of sleazy novels.
Thanks be to God, even though, for the next ten years, I slid ever deeper into licentiousness, when I called His Name He plucked me from its misery.
In the early ’80’s, I hitched a daily ride to work with a Marine whose name I don’t recall. He was always telling me with great emphasis that we did not lose The Tet Offensive in 1968. I was taken aback at first, to say the least, but I knew he spoke the truth. I felt like a worm there on the seat of his pickup. That’s when I knew I’d been had, big time.

How long has it been since I had the pleasure of skewering blacklion? Awhile I think. So long I forgot he / she / it was a troll and actually read the diatribe. What trolls fail to realize about people who sincerely believe in something greater than themselves is that they don’t particularly care what the others think. Which explains a lot of the stupidity we see from trolls. They spew their nonsense in spite of over whelming evidence to the contrary.
September 11th 2001 ring any bells? It was in all the papers. But the libs seem to have missed it and think business as usual is ok. They would rather wage nonstop attacks on the President who actually defended their right to live free and write such garbage. They even defend the people who attacked us and who publicly swore to destroy us if it could in any way advance their agenda.
Now they have to attack Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin who vow to continue the fight. (Deep sigh) Well I am one of the Christian true believers. I believe that people will get what they choose because God gave them the choice. If they choose to support and defend evil they will get it. If they choose to fight evil and seek righteousness they will receive it. I believe enough Americans will choose good and send Obama and his ilk back to Chi town where the Daley people will reschool them.
To bad Governor Palin poked a hole in your party’s balloon. We’re all watching it slowly sink from the ceiling, lose it’s shape, and bump along the floor.
Likely this election will also take Nancy Pelosi out of the Speaker’s chair too. Harry Reid may have to move his office back down to the cheap seats as well. Your party is doing it to themselves.

“What we still don’t understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media were definitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!”

Another example where even the best of journalists (and that really isn’t saying much given how lamestream journalism has stooped to new lows) are caught in a media narrative of their own making. B-Lyin’ Re#33: “Empathic?” Are you talking about the same Obama as the one who accused our troops of “air-raiding villages and killing civilians … causing enormous problems” [in the Middle East]? The Obama who demands that uniformed personnel move out of sight when photographers are present? Who stands bored while others pay respect to the flag for which our troops pledge their lives? Who calls his opponent “computer illiterate” because the beatings John McCain received defending his country’s honor left him unable to comb his own hair, tie his own shoes — or while away the hours at a keyboard?
This is Obama’s version of “empathy?”

The true measure of U.S. involvement in Iraq is that we, the United States and the West, are making friends from former enemies for the first time since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. These are enemies that once sided with both the Nazis and Soviets, and isolated from the West for centuries, they were indoctrinated to hate us. Now for the first time they are getting to know us, and as some Iraqis told me during me last deployment, liking us. Michael Pfleger, speaking Sunday at Barack Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ, implied Clinton was a white supremacist who believed she would win the nomination because of “white entitlement.” Pflegler has been a noted spiritual advisor for Barack Obama for decades while he has lived in Chicago.
As Jon Voight says: [I am] also troubled both by Obama’s associations and his willingness to end them [his relationships] so abruptly. “When I look at the other side, when I look at Barack Obama, I see expediency,” he says, pointing to Obama’s relationship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and assuming Obama’s voice. “He’s like family. I could never disown him. I didn’t know him. I didn’t hear those words in that church.”
Does anyone not understand what is being said in the Trinity United Church of Christ? Was the video of a catholic priest (who by the way should be defrocked in my not so humble opinion) unclear? Did he mumble? I think two things should be thought of, Did Barry know what he says he didn’t know and why not? Does he need an interpretor? Will he understand President Putin? President Imanutjob? Or will he suddenly say oh I’m sorry for the nuclear testing in Oklahoma(!) or wherever, I din’t know what he said!
And another qoute: He’s like a really clever virus who adapts.

Just one minute, BL31U. You misrepresent John McCain’s support for veterans and rely on the cheap smears of Obama and the Left in libeling McCain. McCain rejected Webb’s bill for specific reasons and offered what he thought was a better one for veterans and their families.
The following is a letter that he wrote in response to Obama’s political slander:
“But I am running for the office of Commander-in-Chief. That is the highest privilege in this country, and it imposes the greatest responsibilities. It would be easier politically for me to have joined Senator Webb in offering his legislation. More importantly, I feel just as he does, that we owe veterans the respect and generosity of a great nation because no matter how generously we show our gratitude it will never compensate them fully for all the sacrifices they have borne on our behalf.
“Senators Graham, Burr and I have offered legislation that would provide veterans with a substantial increase in educational benefits. The bill we have sponsored would increase monthly education benefits to $1500; eliminate the $1200 enrollment fee; and offer a $1000 annually for books and supplies. Importantly, we would allow veterans to transfer those benefits to their spouses or dependent children or use a part of them to pay down existing student loans. We also increase benefits to the Guard and Reserve, and even more generously to those who serve in the Selected Reserve.
“I know that my friend and fellow veteran, Senator Jim Webb, an honorable man who takes his responsibility to veterans very seriously, has offered legislation with very generous benefits. I respect and admire his position, and I would never suggest that he has anything other than the best of intentions to honor the service of deserving veterans. Both Senator Webb and I are united in our deep appreciation for the men and women who risk their lives so that the rest of us may be secure in our freedom. And I take a backseat to no one in my affection, respect and devotion to veterans. And I will not accept from Senator Obama, who did not feel it was his responsibility to serve our country in uniform, any lectures on my regard for those who did.
“The most important difference between our two approaches is that Senator Webb offers veterans who served one enlistment the same benefits as those offered veterans who have re-enlisted several times. Our bill has a sliding scale that offers generous benefits to all veterans, but increases those benefits according to the veteran’s length of service. I think it is important to do that because, otherwise, we will encourage more people to leave the military after they have completed one enlistment. At a time when the United States military is fighting in two wars, and as we finally are beginning the long overdue and very urgent necessity of increasing the size of the Army and Marine Corps, one study estimates that Senator Webb’s bill will reduce retention rates by 16%.
“Most worrying to me, is that by hurting retention we will reduce the numbers of men and women who we train to become the backbone of all the services, the noncommissioned officer. In my life, I have learned more from noncommissioned officers I have known and served with than anyone else outside my family. And in combat, no one is more important to their soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen, and to the officers who command them, than the sergeant and petty officer. They are very hard to replace. Encouraging people not to choose to become noncommissioned officers would hurt the military and our country very badly. As I said, the office of President, which I am seeking, is a great honor, indeed, but it imposes serious responsibilities. How faithfully the President discharges those responsibilities will determine whether he or she deserves the honor. I can only tell you I intend to deserve the honor if I am fo rtunate to receive it, even if it means I must take politically unpopular positions at times and disagree with people for whom I have the highest respect and affection.”
I can provide the link for this letter to Obama if you wish. I think what I have cited demonstrates the honorableness of Sen. McCain and (by contrast) the despicableness of Obama and his not-so-honest supporters.

Don’t you just love those people who “only ” need reading glasses ,and wear them on the end of their nose? Have you ever wondered if they never see themselves and realize how absolutely dorky they look?Just made old Charly look very aged and ignorant. If it were possible for Bill Clinton to look any more clueless ,it would be when he pulls those glasses to the end of his massive honker, then peers over the top.
Now I want glasses like Sarah’s. I won’t look as beautiful and intelligent, but I will feel good.
