    Ha. If only.

Alas, it was all too clear from the few words I could understand of that (“Palestine,” “jihad,” “Iraq,” “Americans”) that what he was actually saying was far less in keeping with the spirit of the season.

Holy crap, by the way, I’m FIRST!

This was funny. This was thought provoking. But there’s something else about this brilliantly conceived piece: it makes each viewer see how ridiculous other religious narratives sound. The same words billy graham would use in his own christmas video sound alien coming from a terrorist.

I happen to be a catholic who believes in the entire dogma: virgin birth, trinity, divinity of a man, judgement day.

BUT: I understand the weak points in the narrative: So what if christ died on the cross, so did millions of Rome’s enemies. There’s been a hundred billion souls, yet there’s a relative handful of catholics. If you can only get to heaven through christ, then most of humanity is [deleted]. totally not fair. Much of the new testament is unreliable and of doubtful origin. Even the lord prayer was voted as unauthentic by folks who looked at it a long hard time.

the illogic goes on and on, yet I still believe.

I wonder if Osama’s #2 has changed his mind about Whitney Houston too?

    In response to #11:

The cross is not fair? In one sense you are right. It is not fair that God should give his Son to die for me. Fair is that Christ take me to task according to God’s law and judge me as the sinner I am. Woe to the man who demands fairness from God. I pray everyone will plead for mercy from God for God’s fairness is too severe for any man to bear. But sinful men love their sin and refuse to come to Christ. God does not owe salvation to anyone and would be perfectly fair to condemn the whole world in their sins. Thank God for his mercy!

This is a crown jewel for Scrappleface. The irony of this is so outlandish and humorous yet turns into the power and reach of the gospel. Demonstrating its power that is not limited to even, our most feared enemies. What a great piece of work. Simply the most humorous and thought provoking pieces I’ve seen Scott do. This will get a lot of play by Christians and their thinking friends. Thanks Scott, and Merry Christmas.

In responce to #16: That’s right, fall apart. Walk softly boys.

Did anyone notice that as Al Queda #2 spoke about being saved, a young page appeared in the background? or was that an altar boy?

Be careful. W is starting to sound like he knows where reality is on the ground in Iraq. Now we’re in for it. W would have to set his next move up with admissions of reality, and then the way forward is, “Well, if we are not winning, then to win I need to do much, much more.”
I predict a draft. Iraq is an open ended war with a cost of trillions. We cant leave. Ever. We are surely trapped. When it dawns on people what we’ve bought in Iraq, fear is going to grow. Buy stocks. (wall of worry).

I am having a heck of a time trying to compose a blog post on the de-mystification of Jesus. If there are folks who have my e-mail, and see an obvious trend, then please advise me. This is a tough subject.

There is stuff like “Who wrote The Bible?”, “Who wrote the New Testament?” “The Secret Lives of Jesus…” and an alleged “gospel” of Mary Magdelane. There is also Dan Brown’s fictional device of the DaVinci code, which seem to be a gospel of sorts now.

I can use some input, either at the e-mail or publicly here at ScrappleFace.

#31 Great stuff, mig. Yes, everyone knows that we’ve been in korea and germany and japan for fifty-plus peaceful, and quiet, and nice years.

But we will be fighting in Iraq for 100 years. (that’s nothing, they’ve been at it for 14 centuries). If we leave the war will spread. We’ve started a fire that we can only contain, not stop. We are trapped. There is no exit. Ever. When it dawns on people, there’s going to be revolution here. A revolution of paradigm so profound that it will make the sexual revolution seem like just feeling up a cheerleader, instead of the debauchery it became. Oh baby, buckle your seatbelts, It’s going to be a bumpy century. Fortunately for me, nothing can affect me, because I’ve completely insulated my emotions with herbal infusions of of LSG.

BTW: my profession? I volunteered to organize the volunteers once, but everyone deserted. So I went to a weight watchers. But nobody would look at me. then I tried bookkeeping, but all the pages turned on me. So, today, I try to live hand to mouth, but my feet get in the way. I’m only six years from retirement.
